Helmet Island Landscape

Helmet Island Landscape

The name of this piece comes from small white space moat around one of the graphics in the landscape, a kind of limbless samurai. Why not call it “limbless samurai?”

That would be depressing.

My wonderful friends Dave and Karen Maxwell framed this on their wall. It lifted my heart to see. Not a sale, per se, but something more: encouragement. Note that I don’t quite have the fortitude to square the shapes to the sides of the page. That would not come for another several years while I figured out whether or not it might be a good thing.
